3d Animation Project: Mocap workshop

For Wednesday workshop today we worked in groups of 2 and were shown how to record motion capture data with a Kinect and use it to animate a model.

We saved our motion capture data as an FBX file, and opened it in Cinema4d.

We added a sphere and resized it.

We right clicked on the sphere, went to 'New Tag', 'Character Tags' and 'Constraint'.

In the bottom right, we ticked the 'PSR' box.

And then clicked on the 'PSR' tab that appears.

From here, we could drag the joints from the motion capture data to the 'Target' in the bottom right. This locks the object to the joint.

We copied and pasted the sphere, and attached each on to each joint.

Then we grouped all the spheres together and added the Metaball array object. Had to increase the size of the spheres to lessen the gaps.
