Hopefully will have time to make a backdrop for the actual animation, but it's not required. Something along the lines of this, from Tigtone:
Or even like a Steampunk factory with a load of candles, machinery, vats full of molten wax, conveyor belts, and sparks and flames flying all over the place etc; all working towards making a single wax seal on a single letter. But somehow, I think that would be too ambitious.

This was an experiment with metaball objects to try and capture the same sort of style my photoshop design has. To get even closer to it, I think I'd have to use more, smaller spheres:
