Game idea: Experiments

Decided to mock up a battle scene.

Battles will be stationary turn based. Before each battle the will be a sort of branching narrative/conversation event which will give context to the conflict and possibly find a way to avoid combat. In this particular scene the player has the advantage, and the choice will be left to them whether to have mercy or not:

Did some more experiments with the map. Defined some of the ridges in the sandy area in the bottom left, tried to integrate the skeletons and serpent more, and reduced the shadows outlining the UI. 

The UI for the overworld map and the battle scenes are the same. There will be occasions where you can use your combat abilities/spells on the overworld map, hence the presence of the ability bar.
